The attorney will get a court date. This could be anywhere from 4 months to year out. Giving time for the debtor [also advised by lawyers] to dissolve, change names, sell, or file for bankruptcy protection overnight. So, like always, problems are a win-win for attorneys.
Then, if victorious the fact remains that 85% of all civil judgments granted in this country go uncollected. The lawyer at this point will request more money to do an asset & income search. This is when the real fun starts and billable hours mount.
There is a window of time [depending on circumstances] when a customer falls past due BEFORE one of these debt avoidance situations comes to reality. Collect BEFORE the judgment, not after.
Our collection coordinators operate on a strictly contingent basis and inject a sense of urgency in resolving these issues. We “jump in the boat” with our client’s problem accounts. We don’t get paid unless we collect.
